Who We Are and Where We Are Going

Who are We?

Since its formation in 1994 RUN has been committed to providing high quality resources, practical teaching events and the opportunity to network with hundreds of church leaders. Representing more than 30 denominations, membership currently stands at over 800, an increase of more than 400% in just 5 years. As well as covering all areas of the UK, RUN also has members in Europe and further afield. These churches are united by a common passion to reach people for Christ in a culture that has largely given up on the church.

What is unique about us?

RUN is unique in that although there are other networks and affiliations in existence, no other functions in quite the same manner. It stands alone in the UK and Europe as an interdenominational agency committed to resourcing, envisioning and networking without promoting any one single model of practice, doctrine or church structure. For this reason, it is not perceived as a threat or in competition with any other mission agency. We are equally committed to working with emerging and established forms of church.

What is RUN becoming?

  • A missional movement - mission has always been at our heart - it was the motivation for our birth and is the reason for our existence. We want to identify and promote effective models of outreach that are appropriate to today's society.
  • An equipping movement - we are committed to not only developing innovative resources as tools for ministry but offering the highest quality events and training opportunities so that today's leaders are able to think differently, strategically and creatively.
  • A prophetic movement - by speaking a message of hope, inspiration and challenge to the church, RUN is in a distinctive position to offer both spiritual insight and practical application.
  • A relational movement - RUN is built on relationships and is intentional about developing a support base that recognises we need each other regardless of our diverse and specific contexts of ministry.
  • A partnership movement - we can do so much more together than we can alone. RUN has long been committed to partnership, believing that by forming alliances with others who share similar values we honour God and actively help build His Kingdom.

Where is RUN going?

We plan to develop...

  • Regionally - by working more in specific geographical areas.
  • Specifically - by identifying and bringing together those who share common ministry areas.
  • Resourcefully - by providing the highest quality resources for ministry and mission.
  • Strategically - by supporting both emerging and existing churches in their outreach.
  • Internationally - by partnering with other European networks.

How are we funded?

RUN is funded by a combination of Membership Fees, Grants and Donations. We realise that membership fees will never fully cover our existing activities, or vision for the future, and are actively looking for other funding. We would be thrilled if you felt able to assist us in this next season of our development. Please consider whether you personally and/or your church could support this work through its Home Mission giving. If you would like to help, please contact the RUN office.

RUN is a Registered Charity (No. 1080435) and also a member of the Evangelical Alliance.
