Missional Leadership is a day conference jointly presented by MAINSTREAM and RUN

The church is born in mission and launched into action with the command of Jesus to 'go to the ends of the earth'. But at what cost to its leaders?

This day will explore the dual nature of church leadership - looking inward to the health of the body and outward to the adventure of mission.

Together we will explore such key questions as:

• Is it possible to shape the church for mission, so that even our maintenance has a missional edge?
• Where does the need to gather give way to the need to disperse?
• What does it mean to be stretched between past and future; between continuity and change; between the home-front of church and the frontlines of mission?
• What does apostolic leadership look like for the 21st Century?
• Who are the leaders who will shape our future in church and mission?

Gerard has been Senior Pastor of Crossroads Amsterdam since 2005. A growing church of some 40 nationalities and every kind of background, Crossroads (http://www.xrds.nl) has 'bucked the trend' in contemporary Amsterdam by drawing many young adults into the community of faith. Before settling in the Netherlands Gerard was for nine years a member of the Leadership Team of Spring Harvest, Europe's largest Christian teaching event. He and his wife Chrissie are also founding Directors of The Bless Network (http://www.bless.org.uk) an agency working alongside local churches across mainland Europe. Gerard is the author of 10 books. The most recent, co-written with Chrissie, is 'Intimate with the Ultimate' published by Authentic.
