Glad You Asked

Glad You Asked!

Glad You Asked grew out of a seeker group where, at the end of the planned series of meetings, one of the participants said 'This has all been very interesting, but you haven't answered any of our questions...' So the group decided to keep meeting and started with the premise 'If you could ask God any question, what would it be?' When, after exploring these questions 4 out of 5 members of the group became Christians, the leaders decided to develop the idea as an evangelistic resource for others to use.

A survey across Europe and Eurasia revealed that the top ten 'Questions you would ask God' were nearly the same in all the countries and these ten questions became the basis of Glad You Asked.

The resource is comprised of a detailed 'Leader's Guide' book plus a DVD of material to support ten small group sessions. These begin with 'Does God Matter?' through 'Why is religion full of hypocrites?' and concludes with four sessions based around questions that Jesus asked. The course can be followed in any order depending on what questions the group are most interested in although it recommended that the final four sessions are done in order.

The leader's guide provides advice for running the sessions which includes a short passage on the 'spiral search' philosophy favoured over a more traditional 'question results in immediate answer' approach. The sessions are broken into accessible chunks, each introduced by short 'vox pops' on the DVD and usually followed by group discussion. These clips include participants from other major religions as well as Christians in order to be clear about what makes Christianity unique. Each session usually begins with a creative activity that introduces the question or informs the discussions that follow.
